Your historical notes are a big reason I enjoy reading this series. I became much more interested in the history of slavery starting about 2016, when it was very clear (this is a quaint thought now) that we were not really in a post-racial era and the need to confront our historical past was more important than ever. I've been slowly trying to correct my ignorance ever since. Keep up the pedaling and the posting!
